Chinese Philosophies
Confucianism:
Confucianism began with a man named Confucius. He was living during the time of the civil war of the Zhou dynasty. He wanted Peace in the society. Confucius decided to teach his new lesson. It taught people to judge each other positively. This philosophy was growing and growing until it was a major philosophy. |
Daoism:
Daoism began with a wise man named Laozi. His philosophy was meant to give answers to the confusion and disorder of the Zhou dynasty. He taught to love each other and is better to be happy with oneself than be bored and rich. He taught to stay simple and not ask for too much. You are too accept every stage of life due to destiny rather than reject it. |
Legalism:
Legalism was yet another philosophy that searched to return peace to the society. A man named Hanfeizi created this philosophy. Hanfeizi looked at Confucius's work and thought it was not the right answer. He thought society should be based on strict laws everyone must follow, if disobeyed, there would be harsh and severe punishments heading your way. |
